Pulaski Technical College will have an open forum Wednesday, July 2, to discuss a proposal from the Arkansas Junior College Athletic Foundation to establish an intercollegiate athletic program at Pulaski Tech.
The forum is set for 2:30 p.m. in the U.S. Bank Community Room on the first floor of the Information Technology Center, 3000 West Scenic Drive, North Little Rock. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss information on the proposal with foundation representatives and to hear comments from the college community.
The foundation, a nonprofit organization, submitted the proposal to the Pulaski Tech Board of Trustees last week for consideration at its July 7 meeting. The proposal calls for establishing a men's football program in 2004 and a women's volleyball program the following year.
By state law, no college or state funds can be used to fund two-year college athletic programs. All funds must be raised from the private sector.
