Two members of Pulaski Technical College Chapter of Phi Beta Lambda, the collegiate version of Future Business Leaders of America, recently returned from the Phi Beta Lambda National Leadership Conference and Competition in Anaheim, Ca. where they competed against students from some of the top undergraduate colleges and universities in the nation.
Lisa Gilbert, of Little Rock, and Susan Page, of Alexander, took top honors in the state competitions held in April, in order to advance to the national conference, held June 22-25 in California.
Gilbert, who serves as Pulaski Tech's PBL chapter parliamentarian, received 8th place in the Justice Administration competition, which tests students' knowledge of law. Competitors had one hour to complete a 100-question test pertaining to law. Gilbert, who is pursuing a degree in paralegal technology, also was one of the 15 students nationwide who advanced to the public speaking finals at the national competition.
Susan Page, who served as the Pulaski Tech PBL chapter secretary, competed in the Management Concepts event. She is pursuing a business degree, with an emphasis in accounting.
