Simmons endows scholarship fund, applications due April 14
The first endowed scholarship fund at Pulaski Technical College has been created with a gift from Simmons First National Bank.
The endowment, called the Simmons First National Bank Endowed Scholarship Fund, will provide a $500 scholarship each semester to a Pulaski Tech student who shows academic promise and needs financial assistance.
"We are very honored to be the recipient of this generous contribution, which will serve as a lead gift in our new effort to secure endowments for scholarships, program support, faculty development and other college initiatives," Dr. Dan F. Bakke, college president, said.
Steve Wade, Little Rock community president of Simmons First National Bank, said he hoped the bank's gift would be the first of many endowed scholarships to come.
"We are excited about the evolution of Pulaski Technical College," Wade said. "An educated work force is the key to the economic success of this community."
Applications for the Simmons First National Bank Endowed Scholarship for the 2006-07 academic year are available in the Pulaski Tech Office of Development, Administation 115.
