Pulaski Technical College will celebrate the grand opening of its new Campus Center Building with a dedication ceremony beginning at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, on the main campus.
Several hundred people, including community and business leaders, faculty, staff and students, and community residents are expected to attend.
Guest speakers include John Barnes, chair, Pulaski Technical College board of trustees; Dr. Dan F. Bakke, president of Pulaski Technical College; Dr. Linda Beene, director of the Arkansas Department of Higher Education ; R.J. Wills, chairman of the PTC Foundation Board of Directors; and Cheniqua Reynolds, a Student Ambassador and president of Pulaski Technical College's Student Government Association.
The Ted Ludwig Jazz Combo and the Pulaski Technical College Choir will provide musical entertainment. A reception in the Campus Center will follow. Student-led tours also will be provided.
The three-story Campus Center, with its clock tower, plaza, and promenade, is now the signature building on the college's main campus. Among the features are the Grand Hall, with seating for 300 people, state-of- the-art conference and meeting facilities, a Cyber Lounge, the Campus Bookstore, Food Court, private dining room, instructional space, faculty and staff offices, multipurpose classrooms, audio-visual capabilities, and wireless Internet access.
The Campus Center also houses the college offices of Admissions and Records, Business Office/Cashier, Counseling and Advising Services, Disability Support Services, Financial Aid, Education and Academic Success, Student Life and Leadership, and the Learning Assistance Center where students have access to free tutoring.
