Harriet Frazer, dear friend of Pulaski Tech, passes away
4/26/2007

It is with great sadness and profound respect that Pulaski Technical College reports the loss of Harriet Frazer on Wednesday, April 25, 2007, in Little Rock. Mrs. Frazer, 69, was the founding Chief Academic Officer of Pulaski Technical College and served as Dean of Instruction until her retirement in 1999.

Much of the growth of Pulaski Technical College can be attributed to Mrs. Frazer's efforts. When the school became a two-year college in 1991, Mrs. Frazer assumed the monumental task of developing associate degrees in a number of technical/occupational areas and for creating a comprehensive university-transfer degree program.  She saw the college through accreditation with the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and coordinated 15 graduation ceremonies at Barton Coliseum...and many more on the main campus in North Little Rock.

Upon her retirement from full-time employment with Pulaski Tech, she returned to the college to help establish and operate the testing laboratory in Counseling and Advising.

An only child, Mrs. Frazer devoted the past several years to caring for her elderly parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Smith, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Bernard Frazer; a daughter Miah Frazer Michaelsen, son-in-law Jonathan Michaelsen and grandchildren Brendan and Wyeth all of Bloomington, Indiana; a son Bryan Frazer, daughter-in-law Angela Frazer and grandchildren Brittney and Conor all of North Little Rock; dear friend and sorority sister Barbara Fenters of California and numerous sorority sisters, colleagues, neighbors and friends.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the North Little Rock Funeral Home, with the Rev. Larry Powell officiating. Graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Walnut Lake Cemetery in Dumas. Family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main, North Little Rock, (501) 758-1170.

Mrs. Frazer will be remembered for many things, including her quick wit, cheerful laugh, ready smile, attention to detail, and devotion to our faculty, staff and students. She was the consummate professional and a true leader in every sense of the word. She will be dearly missed.

A copy of Mrs. Frazer's obituary is included in this message. Online obituary and guest register are at www.northlittlerockfuneralhome.com.

Please keep the Frazer family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
