Pulaski Tech out on the town

Pulaski Technical College participates in numerous community events throughout the year, and this week is especially notable for the flurry of activities. Pulaski Tech faculty, staff and students will have many opportunities to spread the word about the college.

This evening, Sept 24, the Pulaski Technical College Arkansas Culinary School will represent the college at the North Little Rock Chamber of Commerce's 15th annual Taste of the Town, 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at Alltel Arena in North Little Rock. Presented in part by Pulaski Technical College, Taste of the Town is a networking event at which over 35 area restaurants and food and beverage distributors -including the PTC Arkansas Culinary School- each provide signature dishes for guests to sample. Tickets to Taste of the Town are sold out.

On Thursday Sept. 25, Pulaski Technical College will be represented at the 2008 Market Arkansas Business Round-Up. As one of the biggest business and industry trade shows in the state, Market Arkansas is a great opportunity for the college to interact with the central Arkansas business community. The event begins at 9 a.m. and concludes at 4 p.m. at Alltel Arena. Admission is $3. More information is available here.

Friday and Saturday, Sept. 26 and 27, the college will join the popular environmental education and cultural diversity festival WorldFest at its new location at the William J. Clinton Presidential Center and Park in downtown Little Rock. The festival is free of charge. It begins at 9 a.m. and concludes at 9 p.m. on both days. WorldFest was established in the fall of 1995 to encourage friendship and reduce prejudice by coming together to learn about different cultures and ethnicities. It is presented by the Little Rock Racial and Cultural Diversity Commission. For more information, click here.

Also on Saturday, Sept 27, Pulaski Tech will participate in the Little Rock Family Education Expo from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the Clear Channel Metroplex on Colonel Glenn Road in Little Rock. Experts from top private and public schools in central Arkansas will discuss programs and services they have to offer. Participants can register for after-school activities and educational services. Free parenting workshops on study skills, parent/teacher conferences, and other activities will be offered while the kids enjoy free enrichment activities. For more information, click here.
