Family literary event to kick off Banned Books Week
9/29/2008

Pulaski Technical College will host readings and discussions by Arkansas authors and a creative writing workshop for teens on Sept. 30 as part of  "An Evening of Arkansas Authors."

Both events take place from 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday in the Campus Center on the main campus in North Little Rock.

Readings and a panel discussion with local authors Kevin Brockmeier, Hope Coulter and Trenton Lee Stewart will be in the R.J. Wills Lecture Hall, located on the second floor of the campus center.  A book signing will follow with available copies of books by the authors for sale.

In the Campus Center Grand Hall, author Paula Martin Morell will lead a creative writing workshop for youths ages 10 to 18.

Pulaski Tech's Division of Fine Arts and Humanities and the college's Libraries Committee are sponsoring both events, which are part of the college's weeklong Banned Books Celebration.
