Cyber Awareness event today

The Pulaski Technical College Information Technology Committee is sponsoring a series of events on Thursday, Oct. 23, to celebrate National Cyber Security Awareness Month. Students, faculty, staff and the public are welcome to attend.

The events will start at 10 a.m. in the R.J. Wills Lecture Hall, located on the second floor of the Campus Center on the Main Campus. Snacks, drinks and prizes will be provided.

Schedule of activities is as follows:

10 a.m. Welcome, Lennon Parker, Web Communication Specialist

10:05 a.m. Clyde Ellis, FBI Special Agent Cyber Squad

11 a.m. Your Footprints are Always Left Online, Lennon Parker, Web Communication Specialist

12 p.m. Documentary: Hackers outlaws and angels & Computer worms and viruses

1-2:30 p.m. "The Net" film (important scenes only)

3 p.m. Discussion for "The Net" Hollywood vs. Fact

4 p.m. MySpace/Facebook: Discovering Online Social Networking, Lennon Parker, Web Communication Specialist

5 p.m. Your Footprints are Always Left Online, Lennon Parker, Web Communication Specialist

National Cyber Security Awareness Month is a national campaign focused on educating the American public, businesses, schools and government agencies about ways to secure their part of cyber space, computers and the nation's critical infrastructure.
