Pulaski Technical College will host a "Say Go College Week" event from 4-7 p.m. on Feb. 19. Say Go College Week is a statewide campaign that encourages high schools and postsecondary institutions to have activities designed to give students, parents and teachers a greater appreciation for postsecondary education. The Say Go College Info Fair on Feb. 19 will take place in the Campus Center Grand Hall on the Pulaski Technical College main campus at 3000 West Scenic Drive in North Little Rock. College staff and faculty will be on hand to provide information on programs of study, admissions, financial aid, scholarships, college life and activities, and more. Participants will have chances to win door prizes and to participate in the Say Go College video contest. The video contest allows students to film "why you should go to college" testimonials which will be posted on YouTube and at www.saygocollege.com. Students may film and upload videos independently, but Pulaski Tech will provide a studio, all necessary gear and a videographer to help participants during the Feb. 19 event. College staff will even edit and upload videos to YouTube. The student with the best video will win a new iPod nano?. "Say Go College Week" is part of the College Access Challenge Grant, a two-year grant awarded to Arkansas by the U.S. Department of Education and administered by the Arkansas Department of Higher Education. Partial funding is being provided by the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation in Arkansas. The purpose of the College Access Challenge grant is to improve the college-going rate of underserved students in Arkansas. Pulaski Technical College |
