Job Description: Pulaski Technical College in North Little Rock, Arkansas, one of the state's fastest growing two year colleges, is accepting applications for a full-time, ten-month SSS Retention Advisor position. This is a federally funded position and continuation of the position and program is contingent upon program funding. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: ? Regularly meet with participants to monitor progress and to reassess needs and interventions ? Plan and conduct academic and study skills workshops ? Coordinate with the Registrar's Office to identify appropriate courses/sections to reserve for SSS participants ? Provide academic scheduling support for each participant ? Work with Financial Aid Office to ensure each student's financial needs are met ? Refer students and their families to needed community resources ? Maintain relationships with groups such as Rehabilitation Services, Workforce Education and other organizations to ensure student needs are met ? Partner with campus and community organizations and individuals to bring relevant workshops and services to SSS participants ? Keep abreast of cultural community cultural events; encourages participation and incentives for group participation ? Participate in regional and state TRIO/SSS conferences/meetings (travel will be required) ? Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements: ? Master?s degree required; prefer major in counseling, education, special education, or adult education ? Experience working with low income, first generation and students with disabilities: similar background preferred ? Experience conducting individual and group counseling preferred ? Experience in college setting preferred; knowledge of college admissions, financial aid, and transfer issues preferred ? Ability to maintain records and generate reports within time limits ? Understanding of ADA law and Disability services in higher education ? Training and experience for academic advising preferred ? Understanding of Student Success plans ? Workshop planning and presenting experience required
Salary: $34,500
