Job Description: Pulaski Technical College in North Little Rock, Arkansas is accepting applications for a full-time, nine-month faculty position in Mathematics. This position requires a commitment to teaching in a dynamic community college setting and the ability to successfully interact and respond to the broad ranging needs of an academically and culturally diverse campus setting. The successful candidate will join our instructional team in August 2014. Duties and other responsibilities of this position include: ? Teaches a variety of interdisciplinary courses including, but not limited to, College Algebra, Trigonometry and Calculus. ? Participates in ongoing curriculum development, implementation, assessment and evaluation. ? Utilizes innovative teaching strategies to meet the learning needs of a diverse student population. ? Plans and organizes lesson plans, reference materials, syllabi, technology and other learning aids. ? Advises students, maintains office hours, serves on department and College committees, maintains professional competence, and participates in professional development activities. ? Performs other related tasks as assigned. ? Maintaining an established schedule. ? The ability to establish and maintain positive collaborative working relationships with students, colleagues and staff. Candidates for this position must possess a thorough knowledge of the teaching field, a commitment to high academic standards, a dedication to student success, and excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
Minimum Requirements: Minimum qualifications: A master's degree with a minimum of 18 hours in graduate level mathematics and two years of education teaching experience, preferably in a community college with a diverse student body. The successful candidate must possess required knowledge and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed. Candidates must have flexibility to teach day, evening, and weekend classes. Teaching assignments may also include off-campus sites and involve alternative delivery methods and candidate must maintain punctuality for classes and office hours.
