Weatherization Training Center
To accomplish this goal, the Weatherization Training Center has developed eight courses of study for those wanting to enter into the Arkansas Weatherization workforce. These courses combine classroom instruction with high-tech, state-of-the-art laboratory training practices. A real-world environment in a laboratory setting provides the latest in hands-on training techniques. A mobile home laboratory addition to the center allows for hands-on training specific to mobile homes. Courses cover topics from site-built home fundamentals to mobile home fundamentals, health and safety, Intermediate weatherization fundamentals and diagnostics, HVAC, energy auditor, crew chief and Quality Assurance Inspector. Courses are offered in recurring rotations to allow students convenience as they plan for their career paths. In addition, the training center offers a wide array of custom course designed for the building professional, such as Building Analyst, Infrared Thermography, EPA Lead RRP and the National Centers for Healthy Homes introductory course. Courses are offered Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Financial aid and career counseling are offered through Pulaski Technical College.
