Message from the Dean of Mathematics/Natural and Social Sciences

Welcome to the Mathematics, Natural and Social Sciences division at Pulaski Technical College. Our mission is, in part, to provide a university transfer program of high academic quality. Students and faculty members will work together to accomplish this mission through a course of study that fosters critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills necessary to succeed in the sciences and in life.

The departments of biological sciences, physical sciences, health sciences, mathematics, behavioral sciences and social sciences are comprised of faculty members who bring a wealth of world experience to their students. The faculty have career experience in respiratory therapy, nursing, dietetics, medicine, veterinary medicine, social work, education, counseling, academic research, and in industries such as aeronautics and engineering. They are dedicated to providing a high quality, academic environments in the classroom and laboratory.

The Mathematics, Natural and Social Sciences division strives to provide learning opportunities that involve individuals from the community as well as other institutions of higher education. Students have opportunities to become involved in research and academic presentations involving leaders in their respective fields.

Students interested in research and industrial fields may attend events in which they interact with four-year college graduate students and faculty from the University of Arkansas, Arkansas State University, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, the University of Central Arkansas, the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

Pulaski Tech’s Health Sciences Club offers students interested in health care careers the opportunity to meet and interact with other students as well as faculty members and recruiters from professional programs.

The focus of all these activities is to further student success by providing a crucial link for students to be well-prepared to succeed at a four-year college or university after their work at Pulaski Technical College is complete.

The decision to study and pursue a degree in the fields involved in the Mathematics, Natural and Social Sciences division requires dedication and commitment. This dedication and commitment is matched by the faculty and staff. Please contact me or the department chairs if you have any questions.
