Dr. Mike DeLong
Dr. Mike DeLong became Executive Vice President and Provost of Pulaski Technical College, April 2012. Prior, Dr. DeLong was Vice President for Academic Affairs and Chief Academic Officer at Ozarka College in Melbourne, Arkansas and prior to that worked as a program coordinator, professor of management and computer science, department head, and associate vice president for Academic Affairs at Oklahoma State University. Dr. DeLong is also retired from the United States Air Force after twenty years of service.
Along with his interests in technology, art, and music, Dr. DeLong is also a founding member of the Arkansas Craft School, a creative economy endeavor in Mountain View, AR, where he currently serves as the President of the Board of Directors.
Dr. DeLong has written and managed several grants bringing millions of dollars to institutions and the community. One of these grants facilitated state-wide, free Certified Nursing Assistant training and certification to qualified applicants across Oklahoma.
Being a non-traditional student, he is a strong advocate for education and the ability it has to change lives. He has spoken to many clubs and organizations about the importance of taking charge of life through education and how that knowledge changed his and his family’s lives.
Dr. DeLong is married with seven children going through different levels of the educational experience. His wife, Alison, is a Registered Nurse and a long time Nurse Educator.
