Pulaski Technical College will celebrate the grand opening of its new Business Technology Center on Thursday, June 23, at 11 a.m. on the main campus at 3000 West Scenic Drive in North Little Rock.
Ed Drilling, president of AT&T Arkansas and 2011 chair of the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, will deliver keynote remarks. Refreshments will be served; tours of the building will be available.
The Business Technology Center houses the college's growing number of students who are pursuing training in business-related fields, including accounting, management and supervision, office technology, entrepreneurship, paralegal technology, law enforcement studies and medical office technology.
About 1,200 students are currently enrolled in business programs.
The two-story, 20,405-square-foot center features 10 multipurpose classrooms, conference and meeting rooms, faculty and staff offices, a student commons area and laboratories with the latest in instructional technology.
Wittenberg, Delony & Davidson, Inc. was the project architect, and Matson Construction Co. was the general contractor.
Construction of the $4.8 million center was funded through the Arkansas Higher Education Technology and Facility Improvement Act of 2005, with additional support for furnishings and equipment from the Pulaski Technical College Foundation, Inc.
