Pulaski Tech's Studio 153 Players will perform two Pulitzer Prize-winning plays Nov. 7-11 at the Argenta Community Theater.
"Crimes of the Heart" by Beth Henley won the 1981 Pulitzer Prize and the New York Drama Critics Circle Award for her warm-hearted, irreverent and brilliantly imaginative play that examines the plight of three young Mississippi sisters betrayed by their passions.
"The Piano Lesson" by August Wilson is a haunting family drama set in 1936. Boy Willie needs money to buy land and tries to persuade his sister to sell an old piano that has been in their family for generations. But his sister resists because the antique piano is covered with incredible carvings detailing the family's rise from slavery.
Both shows have been cast, and the students are excited about the upcoming performances, said theater instructor Sheila Glasscock. The students will perform matinees and evening shows. Additional details will be announced later
