Veterans Day program set for Friday11/9/2011
Pulaski Tech will observe Veterans Day on Friday, Nov. 11 with a ceremony taking place 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Campus Center Grand Hall B.
The program opens with a moment of silence at 11 a.m. Angie Mitchell of Jacksonville will sing the National Anthem.
The guest speaker will be U.S. Army Reserve Staff Sgt. Bridgette who has served in the military for 11 years and is a paralegal non-commissioned officer with the 90th Sustainment Brigade at Camp Robinson.
Staff, faculty and students will also read aloud the names of war casualties during the program.
Nationwide, volunteers at more than 100 colleges and universities will be reading the names of the 6,200-plus casualties of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom, which is now called Operations New Dawn.
The ceremony is open to the public.
