Pulaski Technical College students, faculty and staff will have access to health screenings, demonstrations, and lots of health-related information this week at the college's annual PTC Health Fair.
The two-day health fair is set for 10:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday and 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the Campus Center Grand Hall on the Main campus.
Free blood pressure checks, blood glucose, HIV, weight and body fat screenings will be provided. Cholesterol checks will be provided from 8 a.m.-noon on Tuesday only at a cost of $12. Participants are encouraged to fast for a minimum of 9 hours prior to the test for a more accurate reading.
New this year is a Relax & Rejuvenate Room, where students can have their blood pressure measured upon entering and upon existing to see if a measurable difference was made. Some of the features include a relaxation garden, chair massage, relaxing music and videos quiet games, and quiet space for reading, meditation and reflection.
