Big Rock Reading Series starts Feb. 162/10/2012
Pulaski Technical College's Big Rock Reading Series starts next week with a line-up of half a dozen writers from central Arkansas and beyond who will share their work.
Three reading events are planned for Feb. 16, March 6 and April 12. All events take place in the RJ Wills Lecture Hall, located on the second floor of the Campus Center on the college's main campus.
Feb. 16 - 6:30 p.m. Stacey Lynn Brown - poet, editor and assistant professor of creative writing at Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville.
March 6 - 6:30 p.m. - Chris James, a.k.a. Scorpio - spoken word artist and member of the spoken word poetry troupe known as FOREIGN TONGUES.
April 12 - Readings at 11 a.m., Panel discussion at 12:30 p.m.
• John Bensko, a poet and professor at the University of Memphis;
• Hope Coulter, Little Rock author and creative writing instructor at Hendrix College;
• Tyrone Jaeger, the Hendrix-Murphy Writer-in-Residence at Hendrix College
• Stephanie Vanderslice, director of the Arkansas Writers MFA program at the University of Central Arkansas.
All events are free and open to the public.
