Pulaski Technical College will host "Superstar Mothers of Superstar Sons" on Thursday, April 19, featuring the mothers of five prominent athletes who will share stories about raising successful sons with a strong sense of values.
Their presentation begins at 7 p.m. in the RJ Wills Lecture Hall, located on the second floor of the Campus Center on the college's main campus, 3000 West Scenic Drive, North Little Rock.
The mothers include the following:
Bettye Williamson - Mother of retired NBA player Corliss Williamson, who was the 1994 National College Champion, NBA champion with the Detroit Pistons, former head coach at Arkansas Baptist College and current head coach at University of Central Arkansas.
Carolyn Brewer - Mother of Ronnie Brewer, shooting guard for the Chicago Bulls and a Fayetteville High School graduate.
Diane Johnson - Mother of Joe Johnson, six-time All Star shooting guard and small forward for the Atlanta Hawks, and a Little Rock Central High School graduate.
Mabeline Lewis - Mother of Quincy Lewis, former NBA player, 1999 first-round draft pick to Utah Jazz, current sports commentator and TV analyst. Both mother and son are Parkview High School graduates
P. Annette Fisher - Parkview High School and UALR graduate, who is the mother of Derek Fisher, the 1996 first-round draft pick to the Los Angeles Lakers, five-time NBA champion and current point guard with Oklahoma City Thunder.
The five mothers will offer their uplifting perspectives on education, athletics and raising respectful, intelligent sons, who strive for excellence.
