Tuition at Pulaski Tech will increase by about 3 percent beginning with the fall 2007 semester.
The Pulaski Technical College Board of Trustees approved the increase during a special called meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 30.
Instate tuition will increase $2 per credit hour, from $72 to $74. Tuition for out-of-state students will increase by $4 per credit hour, from $119 to $123. Tuition for international students will increase by $8 per credit hour, from $238 to $246.
The college's equipment/facility use fee will increase $1 per credit hour from $8 to $9. Other enrollment fees will remain the same.
The tuition increase is needed to keep pace with higher operating expenses at the college, including a 38 percent increase in electricity, an increase in employee healthcare costs, and costs associated with needed technology upgrades, said John Barnes, chairman of the Board of Trustees.
The tuition and fee increases are expected to generate $522,000 for the 2007-08 academic year.
