Barbara Peters, an adjunct English instructor at Pulaski Tech, passed away on Tuesday, June 18 after a long illness. She was 63.
Peters of Little Rock had taught in the college's Fine Arts and Humanities Division for the past seven years, teaching Composition I. She was popular with students and will be missed dearly by faculty, staff and students.
"Barbara was an intelligent, funny, and active member of our department. She wanted her students to learn, and she made every effort to help them do so," said Angie Macri, chair of the English department at Pulaski Tech. "It was a great sadness to hear when she fell ill and could not be in the classroom last spring, and she spoke with me at length about how much she was looking forward to working with us again this summer and fall. She saw teaching as a gift more than as a job, and her love of learning and life was evident every day."
Visitation services will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, June 22, at Little Rock Funeral Home, located at 8801 Knoedl Ct. A memorial service is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 23 at First United Methodist Church of Little Rock at 723 Center St. in downtown Little Rock.
