Pulaski Technical College now has a Staff Senate.
Dr. Dan F. Bakke, college president, today approved the Staff Senate's constitution, which can be viewed by clicking here.
The Staff Senate, the staff equivalent of the Faculty Senate, will meet monthly. Its primary function is to represent college staff; consider ways to improve employment conditions; act in an advisory capacity to the college president; and to foster a spirit of unity and cooperation among all college employees.
The goal of the Staff Senate is to serve students better by facilitating and maintaining effective coordination among college departments, administration and faculty.
The Staff Senate elected officers at its last meeting. Lennon Parker, Web communication specialist, will serve a one-year term as president; Barry Crain, accounting supervisor, will serve one year as vice president and president-elect; Chrystal Paul, Accounting Technician II, will serve a two-year term as secretary.
A parliamentarian and senators will be elected at a future meeting.
Membership is open to all full-time classified and non-classified staff members.
