Pulaski Tech to celebrate Central High Pride Day9/24/2007
Pulaski Technical College will celebrate Central High Pride Day today (Sept. 25) to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the integration of Central High School in Little Rock.
This event is part of the Common Academic Experience program but is open to the entire campus community.
Faculty, staff, and students will gather at noon in the Campus Center foyer for what promises to be a very moving ceremony in honor of the Little Rock Nine. Students will receive "In Honor of the Nine" pledge cards and will recite the pledge together. One hundred copies of Warriors Don't Cry, a memoir written by Melba Pattillo Beals, one of the Little Rock Nine, also will be distributed.
All Central High School alumni are urged to wear a Central High t-shirt, hat or button to show their "Tiger Pride." Tiger Pride stickers will be available in the Student Life and Leadership office in the Campus Center.
