Kareem Moody, program director for Positive Atmosphere Reaches Kids (P.A.R.K.) will be on campus Wednesday to share tips with students for staying motivated to finish college.
The presentation begins at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Campus Center Grand Hall A. His presentation is called 'The Real Deal: Staying Motivated for Success. A brief question-and-answer period will follow.
Faculty will also benefit by learning how to help students connect with their community beyond school.
Moody is a former youth services assistant for the City of Little Rock, and he has worked with gang-involved youth. He is also the author of the popular parenting resource Raise Them Up: The Real Deal on Reaching Unreachable Kids. Books will be available for purchase after his presentation.
P.A.R.K. is a non-profit organization in Little Rock established in 1993 by former NFL athlete Keith Jackson. The organization works to help "high-risk" students finish high school education and go on to college. Through the after-school and summer programs, P.A.R.K. provides youth with homework support, tutoring, recreational activities, leadership development and involvement in community services.
