Applications for the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Scholarship will be accepted through Jan. 16, 2009, from students planning to transfer from Pulaski Technical College to a four-year college or university in fall 2009.
The scholarship honors excellence by supporting outstanding community college students with financial need as they transfer to and complete their bachelor's degrees at the nation's top four-year colleges and universities. The foundation selects up to 50 community college transfer students each year and awards each scholar up to $30,000 annually.
To be eligible, a candidate must be a current student at an accredited U.S. community college or two-year institution with sophomore status OR a recent graduate (within the last five years); have a cumulative college grade-point average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent); plan to transfer to a four-year college or university to begin studies in the coming fall; be nominated by his or her two-year institution; and have unmet financial need.
