National Library Week focuses on 'Careers and Writers'4/16/2004
The Pulaski Technical College National Library Week celebration will focus on "Careers and Writers" Monday through Thursday, April 19-22, in the U.S. Bank Community Room on the first floor of the Information Technology Center.
Scheduled speakers and events include the following:
Monday, April 19
12 p.m. - Phaedra Yount, Arkansas Children's Hospital Technical Writer, will present a discussion on writing.
1 p.m. - The Academic Integrity Committee will sponsor a discussion of Academic Integrity at Pulaski Tech.
Tuesday, April 20
12 p.m. - Pat Winston, children's book author, will read to Children First Child Development Center. She also will discuss writing, her book series and her foundation.
1 p.m. - There will be readings from the upcoming edition of The View From Here, the Pulaski Tech literary magazine.
Wednesday, April 21
11 a.m. - There will be a speakers' forum on "Career Changes" with Dr. Dan Bakke, president; Purnell Henderson, vice president for instruction, and alumnus Mike Wilson.
12 p.m. - Join PTC Reads for a round-table discussion on Who Moved My Cheese?
Thursday, April 22
12 p.m. - Frank Fellone, managing editor of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette will share his thoughts on writers and writing and the newspaper business.
1 p.m. - Garrick Feldman, editor and publisher, of The Leader, will share his views on writing careers.
