Pulaski Technical College will expand course offerings at the Saline County Career Center this fall to include five new technical evening classes for the residents of Saline County and the surrounding area.
The new courses will be the first ones offered to the general public at the Saline County Career Center at 3201 South Reynolds Road in Bauxite (formerly the Alcoa Reynolds facility).
In fall 2002, the college opened the center with career programs in Medical Professions Education and Computer Systems Technology during school hours for students enrolled in Saline County high schools.
New programs at the center for 2003-04 include Aviation Maintenance Technology and Automotive Technology. Additionally, a Cosmetology program will be offered during the day for high school students.
"We are very excited about expanding our offerings at the Saline County Career Center," said Purnell Henderson, vice president for instruction and center director. "We plan to continue to grow and develop the center in response to the needs of local business and industry."
Courses offered to the general public at the center this fall include the following:
- Automotive Technology - Electrical Fundamentals (9 credit hours), Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 5-9 p.m.;
- Aviation Maintenance Technology - Aviation General (10 credit hours), Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 5-9 p.m.;
- Computer Systems Technology - Desktop Operating Systems (3 credit hours), Mondays, 6-8:40 p.m.; Microcomputer Applications I (3 credit hours), Wednesday, 6-9:40 p.m.; and Microsoft Server Administration (5 credit hours), Tuesday and Thursday, 6-8:40 p.m.
Tuition and fees are $70 per credit hour. A $15 fee is also assessed for courses requiring consumable supplies.
