Cooke Foundation scholarships up for grabs12/18/2009
Pulaski Technical College students who are planning to transfer to a four-year college or university in fall 2010 have until Jan. 15 to apply for the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship.
The scholarship provides up to $30,000 each year to each recipient. About 50 students nationwide are selected annually, making the scholarship the largest private scholarship for two-year and community college transfer students in the country.
To be eligible, a candidate must be a current student with sophomore status at an accredited U.S. community college or two-year institution or be a recent graduate (within the past five years); have a cumulative college grade-point average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent); plan to transfer to a four-year college or university in fall 2010; be nominated by his or her two-year institution; and have financial need.
