Dozens of antique, classic and custom cars will be on display 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 24, during a Show & Shine hosted by Pulaski Technical College's Transportation Technology Center at the college's Little Rock-South site, located at 13000 Interstate 30.
Registration takes place from 9 a.m.- 12 p.m. and costs $10 per car. Prizes include dash plaques and trophies. Custom car builder Darryl Starbird will be a featured guest and will sign autographs from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
The day-long event also includes the 3rd annual Arkansas Model Championship. Model car builders can compete in more than 30 categories, including aircraft, automotive, novice, military, spacecraft, dioramas, box stock and figures.
The first 75 children aged 6-13 will receive a free Revell model to make and take home. Children can also compete in the Kids Coloring contest.
The Quapaw Area Council Boys Scouts of America will sponsor a Pinewood Derby race for boys in grades 1-5. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. with the first race scheduled for 9 a.m. Competitors need to bring their own derby cars. Trophies will be awarded in three age divisions, Grade 1, Grades 2-3, and Grades 4-5 age divisions.
Other events include a car corral where used cars will be sold, an automotive flea market and a chili cook-off sponsored by Pulaski Tech's Arkansas Culinary School.
