Pulaski Technical College will join organizations from across the country in observing Constitution and Citizenship Day on Friday, Sept. 17.
The observance commemorates the anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution on Sept. 17, 1787, and honors and celebrates the privileges and responsibilities of U.S. citizenship.
Student Ambassadors will be distributing free copies of the U.S. Constitution at tables set up in the Campus Center foyer on the main campus and near Student Services at Little Rock-West and Little Rock-South. Ambassadors will also have printed instruction for how students can participate in an online mock citizenship exam for a chance to win three credit hours of free tuition.
The 100-question, multiple-choice exam draws from questions on the test administered to people applying for U.S. citizenship. It tests knowledge of the U.S. Constitution, politics and government, history, geography, presidents and some black history.
The exam will be open from 8 a.m. until midnight on Sept. 17. Test-takers have 60 minutes to complete the test. The person with the highest score will receive a tuition waiver. Other prizes from the PTC Bookstore will be awarded to second- and third-place winners.
The Web link to the exam will be provided in an updated version of this article later this week.
