Stafford Loan Processing Procedures

1. Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid listing Pulaski Technical College as a school choice. (School code: 014167)
2. Upon completion of the student’s aid file and determination of student eligibility, an award notification letter is issued to the student.  The letter must be returned to the Pulaski Technical College Financial Aid Office indicating the following:
   a. Intent to accept or decline the loan as awarded
   b. Intent to reduce loan amount as awarded. (optional)
   c. Chosen lender.  View Pulaski Technical College's Local Lender List.
3. Complete the Entrance Loan Counseling Session.  The financial aid office will receive confirmation of completion and submit loans for guarantee once steps 2 and 3 have been satisfied.
4. Complete an Online Master Promissory Note.  An email notification will be sent to the student from the guarantee agency, SLGFA, indicating the promissory note can be completed by the student.  If a valid email address is not available, information will be sent by US Mail.
5. Once the lender received your completed MPN, loan funds are transmitted electronically to Pulaski Technical College on the dates set by Pulaski Technical College according to a loan period.  Note: These dates are disclosed on the Notice of Guarantee from the guarantee agency.
