|Minimum Requirements: ||Valid Class A CDL with no restrictions and a good driving record.
Completion of a four year apprenticeship (or combination of study at an accredited vocational or trade school and an apprenticeship) and five years of carpentry experience; or a combination of training and experience which provides the equivalent skills and competency levels.|
|Job Description: ||Provides all types of carpentry necessary to construction and maintenance of Parks facilities.
Performs rough and finished carpentry tasks: builds or repairs wooden structures, facilities and equipment such as sheds, storage buildings,and pavilions; works from blueprints, drawings, and oral instruction; determines specifications and prepares materials lists; builds, repairs, and installs various furniture and equipment such as counters, cabinets, benches, partitions, floors, doors, desks, bookcases, and play equipment; uses hand and power tools.
Operates Parks Maintenance Equipment: operates grader, frond-end loader, bucket truck, auger truck, backhoe, and other parks maintenance equipment in conjunction with construction or remodeling of facilities.
Other Maintenance Tasks: installs glass in windows, doors, and partitions; replaces damaged ceiling tiles, floor times, and wall coverings; makes minor or simple welding repair or fabrication; assists in electrical plumbing, heat and air maintenance.
A complete background check will be conducted on the persons selected for interview. The position is one which requires driving commercial vehicles; A D.O.T. drug test is required prior to employment. All offers of hire to City positions are conditioned on meeting drug test requirements and a job-related medical examination. |
