Promotion & Publicity
Events
Public Relations and Marketing helps publicize newsworthy events through news releases and media contacts. Contact Tim Jones, Director of Public Relations and Marketing, at least three weeks before the event--eight weeks before a major event--so we can develop and distribute materials to meet media deadlines. We need this information early so interested individuals can put the event on their calendars, and editors and reporters can plan their coverage.
We will need a written summary of the following:
- Name and description of the event,
- Time, date and location,
- Admission price and reservation details, if any,
- Names and credentials of speakers/performers,
- Significance of the event, topic or speaker and
- A campus contact, name and extension.
Photos of the performers or event are also helpful.

Achievements
Material provided to this office will be used in internal and/or external news outlets.
PTC Insider, published for college employees, is a popular internal vehicle for publicizing news about faculty and staff. Stories with a wider appeal are disseminated to hometown and regional media.
Innovation, an external publication, is published quarterly throughout the academic year. It includes news about students, faculty, staff and departments, as well as upcoming events.
Interviews
Media interviews with faculty, staff or students must be coordinated through the Public Relations and Marketing office. We will also arrange contacts when a media representative asks for a Pulaski Tech "expert" to comment on a local or national issue.
Electronic Communications
To have announcements distributed via campuswide electronic mail, contact Tim Jones, Director of Public Relations and Marketing, at thjones@pulaskitech.edu.
