Student Government Association
The purpose and mission of the SGA:
- To act in a liaison capacity to the school administration in representation of the student body in matters concerning their college.
- To foster student activities and involvement in the College.
- To promote within the student body a sense of responsibility to the College and to create and maintain a standard of good citizenship and collegiate culture.
- To insure that each student feels he/she is an integral part of the College.
- To promote student opportunities for service to the College and leadership of their fellow students.
- To promote the best interest of the College, making it a positive institution for mental and moral development.
- To promote expansion and progress within the College. This may include recognizing outstanding students, faculty, and administrators at the College.
- Understanding that the administration which is governed by the policies established by the Pulaski Technical College Board of Trustees, the Arkansas Department of Higher Education, and other state regulatory agencies is responsible for the operation of the school, it shall be the purpose of the SGA to promote a cooperative relationship among students, faculty, staff, and administration. This will result in a positive, productive atmosphere for all.

How can I get involved in Pulaski Tech's Student Government Association?
SGA holds open meetings on a regular basis throughout the academic school
year. Any Pulaski Technical College student, faculty, staff member is welcome to
attend. To be a voting member, a student must be an At Large Representative or
Recognized Student Organization Representative. The election of SGA At Large
Representatives take place during the fall semester. Students interested in
applying must complete a Petition for Candidacy by the specified deadline.
Students must maintain a GPA of 2.5, be in good financial standing with the
College, and must have no record of student code of conduct violations.
Petitions for Candidacy are available at the Campus Center Information Desk and
Student Services Office at the South Campus at the start of the Fall semester
until the Petition for Candidacy deadline.
All qualified candidates, who complete the Petition for Candidacy, will be notified by the SGA Advisor concerning election details. In the event there are fewer candidates than At-Large seats, an election will be deemed unnecessary, and qualified candidates will be declared members. If there are more qualified candidates than available seats, an official election will take place.
The election of Student Government Executive Officers shall be held during the fall semester. Nominations will come from within the current membership of the SGA.
