|Job Description: ||Pulaski Technical College in North Little Rock, Arkansas, one of the state's fastest growing two-year colleges, is accepting applications for a full-time Child Care Technician at the Little Learners Lab School operated by the college.
To provide assistance to the center classroom teachers, assist in maintaining ratio requirements where needed, assist with other duties as assigned
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Greets parents and children, and potential parents and children
• Fills in for teachers in the classroom when necessary
• Provide 15 minute morning breaks daily to child care teachers
• Provide lunch breaks daily to child care teachers
• Provide assistance to classroom teacher with activities daily
• Helps in the supervision of recreational and special activities and provides guidance and assistance with activities
• Instructs children and assists in the development of specific topics.
• Provides personal care to children as needed
• Provide assistance where needed daily
• Helps with keeping the classrooms and playgrounds clean and sanitized as per state licensing and ECERS and ITERS requirements.
• Attends workshops and trainings for professional development
• CPR Trained

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills
Knowledge of age appropriate teaching techniques and developmentally and age appropriate children's behavior. Ability to maintain records and develop lesson plans. Ability to teach, provide personal care, and direct and assist with recreational activities of preschool children. Ability to direct activities of childcare personnel.
