| Job Description: | Pulaski Technical College in North Little Rock, Arkansas, the fifth largest institution of higher education in Arkansas, seeks an energetic, creative, outgoing, and collaborative Reference and Emerging Technologies Librarian committed to student success in a community college setting. The Reference and Emerging Technologies Librarian will be responsible for participating in a broad range of library services and duties including, staffing the reference desk, teaching information literacy sessions, serving as library liaison to assigned divisions, participating in collection development activities and serving on appropriate College committees. Salary is competitive.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Investigates, evaluates, and implements appropriate technologies and applications to improve library services and patrons access to information.
Participates in the creation and support of course and curriculum-integrated web resources and learning modules including podcasts and multimedia tutorials, forms, surveys, guides and other instructional and informational materials to support the Library's information literacy, reference and web-based research programs.
Manages and maintains library web pages and other web-based resources.
Shares strategies, techniques, and best practices for using emerging technologies to support teaching and learning by providing professional development opportunities.
Works collaboratively and effectively in a team environment.
Some evening and weekend hours and occasional travel to other PTC locations are required.
Performs other duties as assigned.

| Minimum Requirements: | MLS or equivalent degree. Excellent oral, written, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills with a strong patron service orientation. Familiarity with current trends, standards and emerging technologies in libraries and the web. Knowledge of social networking tools, mobile devices and graphic design programs. Strong organizational skills. |
| Preferred Qualifications: | Community college or other academic library experience. Teaching experience. Working knowledge of PHP, CSS, XHTML, and MySQL. |
