|Job Description: ||Pulaski Technical College in North Little Rock, Arkansas, the state's largest two-year college, is accepting applications for a full-time, nine-month faculty position in Speech Communication. This position requires a commitment to teaching in a dynamic community college setting and the ability to successfully interact and respond to the broad ranging needs of an academically and culturally diverse campus setting. The successful candidate will join our instructional team in January 2013. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: • Teaching assignments will include the introductory Speech Communication course, and may include Speech Communication electives, and may be on one or more of the college's offsite locations at a variety of times, including online. Maintenance of office hours is required.
• The faculty member will participate in various service activities for the department, division, and college including, but not limited to, assessment, course development, curriculum development, and committee service. Participation in non-instructional campus activities is also required.
• The faculty member will also participate in various professional development activities and perform all other assigned duties associated with the function of the Department of Speech Communication and the Division of Fine Arts & Humanities.
Candidates must possess a thorough knowledge of the teaching field, an understanding and appreciation of an applied approach to the study of communication, and a willingness to follow the approved departmental curriculum established by the departmental faculty and dean. Candidate must have successful college teaching experience, demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and effectiveness, student-centered approach to education, and a commitment to student development in and outside of the classroom. Candidate must also have ability to communicate and work effectively with students, college faculty and staff, and the community.
|Minimum Requirements: ||Master’s degree in Speech Communication with at least 18 graduate hours in the discipline. Higher education teaching experience in Speech Communication. Ability to function well in a technological environment.|
|Preferred Qualifications: ||Community college teaching experience. Ability to design, develop, and maintain innovative and interactive instructor-led and e-learning solutions that employ best practices of delivery and result in high quality education. |
