|Job Description: ||Pulaski Technical College in North Little Rock, Arkansas, the state's largest two-year college and a leader in workforce development, seeks an entrepreneurial leader to provide vision and direction for its economic/workforce development program, its community education program, and its adult education program. The College's mission is to offer educational programs and services that are accessible, comprehensive, community-centered, and flexible in order to enhance the development of the communities and residents of its service area. The successful candidate will report to and work closely with the Provost-Executive Vice President and other college administrative and academic personnel in identifying and promoting new program opportunities and delivery formats to meet the needs of the central Arkansas region. This position is located at the Business & Industry Center campus in Little Rock, Arkansas at 3303 East Roosevelt Road. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide innovation and vision for the department.
Initiate and participate in comprehensive workforce education partnerships, collaborative, and strategic alliances..
Develop and implement a long-range plan and strategy for workforce development, economic development, and adult education.
Assure appropriate development, review (assessment), and maintenance of all classes/programs.
Recruit, schedule, train, evaluate and supervise workforce and economic development staff.
Develop and manage the annual budget of the department.
Initiate and prepare contracts and/or training agreements with clients.
Manage program marketing, purchasing, scheduling, registration and billing activities.
Research, write, submit, and administer grant proposals for college activities.
Represent Pulaski Tech on various committees and at various activities related to economic and workforce development and training issues.
Travel and work a flexible schedule in order to meet the needs of various groups and programs of the college.
Serve on the President's Executive Council, Administrative Leadership Team, and other appropriate committees of the college.
Perform other duties as assigned.
|Minimum Requirements: || Masters degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution
Five years of experience in workforce/economic development/continuing education/community service and/or higher education teaching/administration
Other relevant experience may be considered.
|Preferred Qualifications: || Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including a high level of computer skills.
Demonstrated understanding of the impact of current demographic and technological change on workforce and economic development.
Demonstrated ability in program and curriculum development
Demonstrated understanding of adult education principles of learning.
Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing and scheduling work assignments.
Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
Skill in budget planning and preparation.
Ability to demonstrate success as an innovative and entrepreneurial leader with collaborative leadership style.
Knowledge of and experience in current and emerging technologies related to the teaching/learning environment.
Ability to work with a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in writing and administering grants.
