|Job Description: ||Pulaski Technical College in North Little Rock, Arkansas the state's largest two-year college, is accepting applications for a full-time, nine-month faculty position in Developmental Reading. This position requires a commitment to teaching in a dynamic community college setting with the ability to successfully interact and respond to the broad ranging needs of an academically and culturally diverse campus setting. The successful candidate will join our instructional team in January 2013. Candidates must have flexibility to teach day, evening, and weekend classes. Teaching assignments may include all locations, alternative delivery methods and all levels of Developmental Reading. Maintenance of office hours and participation in non-instructional campus activities is also required.
• Active participation in non-instructional campus responsibilities such as college and departmental initiatives, committee work, curriculum planning, assessment of student learning, and professional development.
• Development of assessment of student learning and departmental programs.
• The ability to establish and maintain positive, collaborative working relationships with students, colleagues and staff.
• Ability and willingness to use contemporary educational techniques and technology.
Candidates for this position must possess a thorough knowledge of the teaching field, a commitment to high academic standards, a dedication to student success, and excellent written, oral communication and interpersonal skills.
|Minimum Requirements: ||A master’s degree in Education or a related field with 18 graduate hours in Reading and experience teaching underprepared students is required. Candidates with experience in a community college setting, as Literacy Coaches, or with National Board Certification, etc. are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will possess the competence and experience to develop, revise, implement and assess curriculum to ensure that students are acquiring necessary skills, including familiarity with technology used in classroom settings. The ability to utilize web-based educational technology is expected. |
