January 2008 Staff Star Award Amy Green, Creative Services Manager Amy Green, Creative Services Manager, received the staff Star Award for January. Amy has worked at Pulaski Tech for four years and has received numerous state, regional and national awards. Dr. Bakke congratulated Amy on her most recent award – a silver Paragon Award from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations. Judges selected Amy’s winning design from among 2,000 entries submitted by more than 300 two-year colleges. |

February 2008 Staff Star Award Dianne Butler, Career Services Counselor Dianne Butler, Career Services Counselor, received the staff Star Award for February. Dianne has worked at Pulaski Tech for seven years and provides daily career counseling and planning, daily job postings, on-campus recruiting and information sessions, employment readiness workshops that assist with resume writing, interview skills and other aspects of the job search. Dianne is also a key player with Pulaski Tech's annual job fair. Dianne is active with the Cultural Diversity committee and a number of other campus committees. |

February 2008 Faculty Star Award Antoinette Brim, instructor of English and African American Studies in the Fine Arts and Humanities Division, has been a full-time faculty member at Pulaski Technical College for the past four years. In addition to teaching English and African American Studies classes, Antoinette serves as co-chair of the college’s Cultural Diversity Committee and is a member of the Administration and Business Affairs Committee. Brim was instrumental in organizing the highly successful Poetry Night event in February and the college’s first International Awareness Day this past fall. She has developed several courses designed to introduce our students to various aspects of literature and has been a guest poet/speaker at various events both on and off campus. |

March 2008 Faculty Star Award Leslie Johnston, instructor of Developmental English has worked at Pulaski Tech for three and a half years and serves as Chair of Developmental English in the Division of Academic and Education Success. Leslie also serves on the Achieving the Dream Data Team and has been instrumental in the college's institutional assessment efforts. |

April Faculty 2008 Star Award Danny Fisher, an instructor of diesel technology, received the faculty Star Award for May 2008. He has been a diesel mechanics instructor at Pulaski Tech for 23 years, and before that he was a Pulaski Technical College student. Dr. Bakke commended Danny for his dedication to the college and remarked on the success of the diesel mechanics program. Graduates from the program easily find jobs with area employers with whom Danny keeps in close contact. |

April Staff 2008 Star Award Essie Cleveland, executive director of human resources and employee relations, is the Staff Star Award recipient for April 2008. Essie has worked at Pulaski Tech since November 2004. He oversees all of the college’s employee benefits programs, the hiring of new employees, and ensures compliance with federal and state laws. Dr. Bakke commended him for his service to the college. |

May Faculty 2008 Star Award Cynthia East is the recipient of the May 2008 Faculty Star Award. Dr. Bakke commended Cynthia for her excellence in teaching as well as for her efforts in raising the profile of the Culinary School. She has given numerous cooking demonstrations in the community and appeared on TV several times on behalf of the culinary school. |

May Staff 2008 Star Award Sarah Kelley is the recipient of the May 2008 Staff Star Award. Sarah has been the secretary for Admissions and Records since May 2007. She previously worked for the college as a work-study student and as a part-time employee. |
