PTC Libraries Teaching Philosophy

Establishing connections between Pulaski Technical College students, faculty, and staff and their information needs is vital to building and maintaining an academic community. PTC Libraries staff connects individuals with information on a personal level. We believe teaching can occur anywhere at any time. Therefore, we are approachable and available so students may feel comfortable asking questions in all settings. We believe that by teaching individuals to effectively access, critically evaluate, and ethically use information we can help promote their future success and support the mission of the College. With each interaction, we strive to create a lasting connection to information for the individual and to build a strong foundation of skills that are necessary for his or her employment success and lifelong learning. Our philosophy and methods enable us to establish personal connections with our students, which in turn may lead to a stronger connection between students, information, and the Pulaski Technical College community.
