CLEP Information for Baptist Health Schools Little Rock
What are CLEP Exams?CLEP (College Level Examination Program) exams are 90 minute, computer-based, multiple-choice exams in a variety of areas. If a student has enough knowledge to attain a particular score, the student gets credit for the college level class and does not have to take it traditionally.
What courses can I CLEP?
The PTC courses that Baptist Health Schools Little Rock students can CLEP are Composition I, Psychology, and Intro Sociology. College Algebra is also accepted.
Where and when do I take CLEP exams?
CLEP exams are given on selected Monday and Tuesday afternoons at 1:30 pm at UALR. You must first register at least one week ahead of time via mail, or you may go to Testing Services in Ross Hall, Room 409 on the UALR campus. The UALR Testing Services website contains a printable registration form, along with a step-by-step guide to CLEP testing procedures, dates, fees, parking info, etc. See www.ualr.edu/testing and click the “Credit by Examination” link.
How much does the test cost?
You will pay a $20 registration fee the day you register and a $65 fee will be paid the day of the test. Both fees are per test.
Where should I send my scores?
Your scores can be sent to Baptist Health Schools Little Rock or Pulaski Technical College. You must be currently enrolled at the institution where you send your scores. The four digit code for Baptist Health Schools Little Rock is 2609; PTC’s code is 8365.
What must I score in order to successfully CLEP a course?
CLEP exams are scored on a scale from 20 to 80. Most area colleges have agreed on the following scores, but if you want to transfer credit, always check with the institution. Baptist Health Schools Little Rock and PTC will accept the following scores to receive credit for the course:

How do I study for the CLEP exam?
There are study guides commercially available for each test. One such guide is available at www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/clep/prep.html.
Anything else I need to know?
You may take up to two exams in one afternoon at UALR. You must wait six months before repeating any exam.
