Baptist Health RN program
The Baptist Health Schools Little Rock – School of Nursing offers three tracks for students to become Registered Nurses. The Traditional track is a three year program, in which students concentrate the first year on the general education requirements (offered by PTC) and a few hours of Introduction to Nursing. The program begins in conjunction with PTC classes in August.
The eight GenEd courses are:
| Anatomy and Physiology I: | BIOL 1402 |

| Microbiology: | BIOL 2401 |
| Intro to Chemistry for Health Sciences: | CHEM 1407 |
| English Composition I: | ENGL 1311 |
| Psychology and the Human Experience: | PSYC 2300 |
| Introduction to Sociology: | SOCI 2300 |
| Nutrition: | HLSC 2300 |
The second option is the Express track, a two year program for students who have already completed the following pre-requisites:
- Anatomy & Physiology I
- Anatomy & Physiology II
- Intro to Chemistry for Health Sciences (or equivalent)
- Microbiology
- Composition I
- College Algebra or a score of 50+ on the NET math section
The remaining GenEd courses are taken as a part of the full-time nursing curriculum. The program begins in July of each year.
The Accelerated track, the third option, is open to students who have six months experience as an LPN or paramedic. This is a one year, full-time program that begins in January.
Students who apply for and are accepted into any of these tracks are eligible to take their GenEd courses through PTC, on-campus at BHSLR.
Students desiring to complete their GenEd courses only before entering the School of Nursing may apply for General Education status and are also eligible to take their courses at BHSLR. Upon completion of the GenEd coursework, the student may apply for the School of Nursing.
