Cooperative Agreements with Other Training Organizations
The instructors of the Early Childhood Development program have included training collaborations within the programs course offerings designed to benefit students in their future employment. Many statewide training initiatives have been developed through the Department of Human Services, Early Care and Education division. PTC has incorporated these certificates into appropriate courses so that a student who earns a “C” or better and completes all projects successfully in a course also receives the state certificate. The department has been able to incorporate seven certificates into existing courses.
|ECD Course||Certificate Awarded|
|ECTC 2703 Preschool Curriculum||AECE Framework for Three and Four Year Old Children– (45 hours)|
|ECTC 2303 Literacy and Language Arts||Pre-K Early Literacy Learning in Arkansas- (30 hours)|
|ECTC 2503 Child Guidance||PreK Social-Emotional Learning – (45Hours)|
|ECTC 2403 Math and Science for Early Childhood||INDEX – (30 hours)|
|ECTC 2803 Infant Toddler Curriculum||Infant Toddler Framework – (30 hours)|
|ECD 2803 Special Needs||Special Education Early Childhood Paraprofessional Training – (6 hours) (also available through CDA noncredit training)|
Students who complete any of the above courses with a “C” or better and successful completion of all projections will be awarded the certificate listed at the end of the semester. Students also receive all course materials and resources free of charge. These certificates are used to meet the state requirement for professional development and may be used to move early childhood professionals through the state’s Traveling Arkansas’ Professional Pathways (TAPP) registry.
