Teacher Education Department
Welcome to the home page for Teacher Education at Pulaski Technical College. Our department serves as the launching point for students interested in becoming classroom teachers.
The goals of this department are to prepare students for the teaching profession, to help students identify the area in which they may wish to teach, to provide the successful transfer and the seamless entry into the Teacher Education Program at the four-year institution.
In our Introduction to Education classes, students get actual classroom experience when they go into the classroom to observe in local preschool/elementary, middle school and high school settings. This class is designed to give students a broader knowledge of the areas in which they might be interested. It also provides information and assistance in the Praxis Test.
Our Introduction to K-12 Educational Technology classes introduce students to the world of technology available for use in the classroom.
We currently offer the
Associate of Arts in Teaching - Middle School Math/Science (PDF)
Associate of Arts in Teaching - Middle School Language Arts/Social Science (PDF)
Associate of Arts in Teaching - Preschool through 4th Grade (PDF)
We also serve the needs of non-traditional licensure and students in other area colleges by providing general education, physical education and education classes that are transferable.
Thank you for your interest in our department. You are welcome to visit the Pulaski Technical College catalog for more information regarding our degree programs and Education classes identified as EDUC or EDPA.
