Message from Donnie Cook As Chair of the Pulaski Technical College Foundation Board of Directors, I am privileged to work with such a dedicated group of development staff and foundation board members, who are passionate about helping make higher education more accessible to members of our community. I also have the privilege of getting to know our students. I hear their stories and I know where they’ve come from and what goals they have set for themselves. Pulaski Tech students are not your typical college students. The average age of our student body is 28. Most of our students are first-generation college students; many have families of their own and hold full-time jobs. Over and over students tell me they are here because they desperately want a better life for themselves and for their families. I am honored to be a small part of helping make those dreams become reality and I urge you to consider your own participation. Studies have shown that for every dollar invested in PTC, we return $10.73 to our local economy. It is clear to me, and to all our donors, that to give to this institution is a wise business decision and a social reinvestment that empowers our entire community. Donald J. Message from Joyce Taylor It is an exciting time at Pulaski Technical College. We are the largest two-year college in Arkansas and the fifth largest college or university in the state. Our enrollment has almost reached 9,000 students. This is an growth rate of over 1,000% since the school became a college in 1991. Due to this rapid growth, our enrollment has grown faster than our funding. Therefore, private support from people like you is vital to our future success. As you browse though the Foundation Web site, I invite you to learn more about the college and to consider partnering with us as we work to meet the challenges that lay ahead. Together we can make a difference in education in central Arkansas. Joyce Taylor |
