Registration is not complete until application and payment are received. Registration is $250 per student, per session. Payment is due in full at the time of application. Space is limited to 16 youth chefs per session. Deadline to turn in application and fee is June 30, 2014. No refunds will be given after June 30, 2014.
Children and aspiring chefs entering grades 5th thru 12th are invited to join
Chef Cynthia Malik and staff at Central Arkansas’ premiere culinary institute.
Students spend five days honing their skills by rotating through stations in the
kitchen including starters, snack and breakfast, entrée, and dessert. Through
these stations, they will learn knife skills, how to make soups, stocks and
sauces, cooking methods, meat and seafood cookery, vegetable, fruit, bean and
grain cookery, and basic baking and pastry techniques. Students will also learn
the importance of cleaning and sanitizing, and will rotate through stations
where they will gain basic knowledge of how to maintain a clean kitchen. Life
skills such as teamwork, dependability, communication skills, organization,
nutrition and leadership skills will be emphasized.
Chef’s coats and hats will be provided, along with a recipe packet including all menu items the students have prepared. Students will feast on the nutritious meals they prepare, including breakfast, snack and lunch. On the last day of camp students will invite two guests each, and prepare and serve a 3-course meal reflecting the skills they have learned throughout the week.
Students are encouraged to attend the Orientation where they will receive their chef’s coats and hats, take a tour of the kitchen, be assigned to groups and receive a brief overview of the camp.

$250 per person/session includes all materials and supplies.
No deposit required. PTC faculty and staff discounts are not available.
